Welcome to the city of Villa Hills. The 2000 Census shows Villa Hills has a population of 7,939. Villa Hills is a fourth class city under Kentucky law and is governed by a mayor and council.

The City Council meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise published. Meetings will be held at the Dennis M. Stein Municipal Building, 720 Rogers Rd, Villa Hills, KY 41017.

Trash & Recyclables Collection:
The City provides wast collection once a week by private contract with Rumpke of Cincinnati, Ohio. Brush must not be bundled and all containers must be so one man can handle them. If there are any large items, please call Rumpke at (513) 242-4401 for a separate pickup.
Recyclables are: corrugated cardboard, newspapers, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, beverage cans, vegetable, fruit and juice cans. Red recycle bins are available at the City Building, 720 Rogers Rd.
For residents of Prospect Pointe, check with the Prospect Pointe Management for trash and recycline collection information.

Dogs and Cats:
The City has a Leash Law, this requires the licensing of all dogs and cats in the city. License can be obtained at the Kenton County Animal Shelter. The cost is $5.00. The registration and license period shall be between January 1st and December 31st of each year. It is unlawful to keep any one residence, within the city limits, more than five dogs or cats or any combination thereof. The exception is that the owner or person's), who has custody of a dog or cat, may obtain the puppies or kittens, for a period of twelve weeks after the birth of the animals.

Motor Vehicle Fee:
The City requires a Motor Vehicle Fee be obtained for each auto, truck, motorcycle or other motor vehicle. The fee is $40.00 per vehicle and should be purchased at the City Building, 720 Rogers Road. Any person who qualifies for Homestead Exemption pursuant to Kentucky Constitution Section 170 and KY Revised Statutes Section 132.810 may apply for and receive a twenty ($20.00) dollar discount for one motor vehicle subject to this license requirement, with a limit of two discounted (2) vehicles per household. A 10% fee will be assessed after March 1st, 2009 per vehicle.

Voice of Villa Hills:
The Voice of Villa Hills is the local newspaper published by the Civic Club and delivered to your home free of charge the last weekend of each month. Look for it in your driveway. For more information on other organizations and activities in the City, check the "Voice of Villa Hills". The editor is Diana Siebert at 331-5505, to publish an ad call Diane Hammonds, 331-5621 and classified call Terri Neltner at 341-8974. The deadline for the Voice is on the third Monday of the month. You can drop it off at the City Building before the Monday deadline.
